the RRR desert hog received an elder small Arnold decoder to run digitally through Lonesome Dove. The following pictures are showing this
relative easy conversion:
The left side of the pig. The insulation bewtween the
power pick up and the motor brushes is done by a
thin strip of tape. The red cable is soldered to the
power pick-up, the orange on to the brush.
The right side with a similar way of cable
connection. The decoder just snugs into the room
where the capacitor has been.
Due to the wide and elastic shell there is no problem to put the shell
back in place over the new installation.
